Milo Retires, Perez Activated from DL

CHARLESTON, SC - The New York Yankees announced Wednesday that Charleston RiverDogs outfielder Justin Milo has retired, and Charleston RiverDogs right-handed pitcher Kelvin Perez has been activated from the DL.

Milo was a 37th round pick by the Yankees in the 2009 First-Year Player Draft. The former University of Vermont standout played in 16 games with the RiverDogs, batting .231 with eight runs, four RBI and three stolen bases.

Perez was placed on the DL list on June 26. The Manoguallavo, Dominican Republic native, has appeared in 14 games for the RiverDogs thus far this season, with 13 starts and one relief outing. The right-hander has posted a 3-5 record with a 3.55 ERA, surrendering 74 hits and 30 earned runs, with 24 walks and 54 strikeouts in a total of 76.0 innings of work.
