March 16, 2012 - NBA G League (G League)
Iowa Wolves News Release
DES MOINES, Iowa - March 16, 2012 - MidAmerican Energy Company encourages its customers to go green this weekend. Tonight, MidAmerican Energy is sponsoring the Iowa Energy's Go Green Night at Wells Fargo Arena in downtown Des Moines, Iowa. The Iowa Energy takes on the Canton Charge at 7 p.m. The first 1,000 fans at tonight's game will receive green, miniature basketballs from MidAmerican Energy.
Iowa Energy players will wear green jerseys during this weekend's games to promote the importance of energy efficiency. Following the game, players' jerseys will be auctioned off, and all proceeds from the auction will go to MidAmerican Energy's I CARE program. I CARE helps customers who are unemployed, living on fixed or low incomes, or experiencing a family crisis by assisting in the payment of their utility bills or making their homes more energy efficient. I CARE funding comes from customer donations, with a 25 percent match by MidAmerican Energy for all funds raised. All donations go directly to the agency that oversees the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program in the area where the contribution originated.
During the Iowa Energy game, attendees will hear messages about MidAmerican Energy's no-cost and low-cost energy saving ideas to make homes and small businesses more energy efficient. MidAmerican Energy also will retire renewable energy credits to offset the energy usage at Wells Fargo Arena for the last five home basketball games of the 2011-2012 season.
MidAmerican Energy encourages its customers to go green this St. Patrick's Day by implementing energy efficiency measures around their home. Information about energy efficiency programs and tips is available on MidAmerican Energy's website and the company's Facebook and Twitter pages. Customers can link to the social media sites and energy efficiency website from www.midamericanenergy.com.
Tickets for the Energy game start at just $8 and are available by calling 564-8550, visiting www.IowaNBA.com or at the arena box office.
