Michigan Rides Kelley to Victory over Wenatchee, 5-1

A stellar performance between the pipes by Dillion Kelley helped the Michigan Warriors defeat the Wenatchee Wild, 5-1.

Michigan was paced by Alec Pellegrino, who had one goal. Pellegrino scored 4:35 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Michigan. Zack Szajner picked up the assist.

The Warriors put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Wenatchee to score on any of its four power plays. Michigan could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game.

Michigan additionally got points from Szajner, who also finished with one goal and one assist and TJ Stuntz, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Michigan also got a goal from Connor Lyons as well. In addition, Michigan received assists from Jake Faiella, Mitchell Wedding, Nick Govig, and Jake Hopfner, who contributed one a piece.

The Wild could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game.

Wenatchee was led by Nick Anderson, who scored the team's only goal. Anderson scored 15:38 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Michigan. David Powlowski assisted on the tally.

Kelley rejected 25 shots on goal for the Warriors. Michigan registered one goal on four power play opportunities. The Wild's starting goalie, Gustaf Johansson, made 13 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Chase Perry, who stopped 11 shots.
