Wenatchee Wild News Release

After sweeping the rival Ice Rays 2-0 in the NAHL's Quarter Finals, the Wild have moved on to the next stage of the bracket and that means taking on the Lone Star Brahmas in the semi finals of the 2015 Robertson Cup playoffs. Leading up to this series, every match between these two competitors has been one for the record books and the game of hockey displayed by both benches is never less than intense and passionate. Game One took place in Texas and the final 2-1 2OT score would be won by the host team. Coach Littler quoted after this game, "Very proud of our effort. We had many good chances to win the game in the third period and overtime. One game does not make a series. Excited to see how we respond Saturday night." Following this game, goaltender Zach Quinn was awarded with the 3rd Star of the Game.

Brendan Harris would open this game for both team's seeing as he was able to net the first overall point. The lone goal of the starting period would be recorded seven minutes and twenty seconds into the frame and would be assisted along by fellow Wild skater Jake Ahlgren.

Fourteen minutes and twenty seconds into the second period, Ludvig Larsson would score the game's last regulation goal after he was fed the puck by team mates Sebastian Vidmar and Oskar Andren.

There were no points recorded in the third period or the first overtime period therefore an additional overtime period was forced. The player that would give his team the first pair of points available in this series proved to be Lone Star's Roman Uchyn. This game was put to rest at the six minute mark when Uchyn found the back of Wenatchee's net with the assistance of Pat Egan and Chad Guderian.

Wenatchee would be able to boast at the end of this game that they were able to out shoot the Brahmas 36-30 and they were only in the penalty box for a total of eight minutes. Infractions were taken by Dakota Raabe (Hooking), Ryan Chiasson (Boarding), Jake Ahlgren (Slashing), and Colin Burston (Tripping).

Zach Quinn protected Wenatchee's goal for an outstanding 86 minutes and was able to stop 28 shots on goal.

Game Two of this series was played the following day, April 11th, in NYTX Arena as well.
