Wenatchee Wild News Release
Ending with the same outcome as the night before, the Wild and the Brahmas were once again separated by a 2-1 final score. The Lone Star Brahmas would once again take the victory with them back to their locker room, but that certainly does not reflect the Wild's performance in this match. Wenatchee kept along with the match's pace every step of the way and played many of their cards perfectly. Some of the necessary steps may have been taken in an alternate direction by the Wild players but they are still pushing forward with immense levels of competition and ambition. After the end of Game Two, Coach Littler stated, "Could not solve their goaltending. Proud of the effort. Anytime you out shoot a good team the way we did you expect to win. We had enough quality chances to score we just did not finish. Looking forward to bringing the series back to the classiest fans in junior hockey."
In this game, it would be Lone Star who would open this match after Anton Santesson scored the lone goal of the first period on the power play thirteen minutes and ten seconds into the frame. Familiar faces Sebastian Vidmar and Ludvig Larsson were the first skaters to record assists in the match.
The Brahmas would bring this game up another point with Sebastian Vidmar's goal seventeen minutes into the middle frame. This solo goal was assisted by Ludvig Larrsson and Oskar Andren.
Wenatchee scored their first goal of the game and the match's last four minutes into the final period. On the power play, Ryan Gotelaere was able to beat Brahma goaltender Jake Kupsky after he received the puck from fellow line mates Brendan Harris and David Powlowski.
Once again, the Wild were able to boast outshooitng the Brahmas but this game, it was 29-15. Wenatchee took a total of 10 infractions and the skaters in the penalty box were August Von Ungern-Sternberg (Charging) (Holding), Ryan Gotelaere (Holding) (Hooking) (Head Contact) (Tripping), Kyle Stephan (Slashing) (Kneeing) (Tripping), and Colin Burston (Head Contact).
Michael Bullion took his turn in the between the pipes, and after almost 59 minutes, he was able to stop 13 shots on goal.
The next game between these two opponents will take place on April 17th at 7:05 pm in Wenatchee's Town Toyota Center.
