MN Magicians Survives Janesville Comeback

The Janesville Jets tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the MN Magicians Magicians would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-2.

MN Magicians took a 3-0 lead during the third period, only to have Janesville storm back on a Michael Louria goal 19:26 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

The Magicians stifled the Jets' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. By firing 37 shots on goal, MN Magicians exceeded the 24.9 shots it averages per game this year.

The Magicians were helped by Tyler Tomberlin, who tallied one goal. Tomberlin scored 17:39 into the second period to make the score 2-0 MN Magicians. Joe Kleven assisted on the tally. MN Magicians additionally got points from Matt Colford, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. MN Magicians also got a goal from Eetu Karvinen as well. More assists for MN Magicians came via Derick Kuchera, who had one and Nicholas Kuchera, who had two.

Janesville put 24 shots on net during the contest, more than the 21.5 it averages per game.

Jordan Himley also scored for Janesville. In addition, Janesville received assists from Carson Vance, Zach Avolio, and Cole Pierce, who each chipped in one.

Bryan Nies made 22 saves for MN Magicians on 24 shots. The Magicians incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Jets' Brock Kautz stopped 34 shots out of the 37 that he faced. Janesville incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
