Mets' Turner Joins Bisons on MLB Injury Rehab Assignment

New York Mets INF JUSTIN TURNER has joined the Buffalo Bisons today on an MLB injury rehabilitation assignment. Turner will be available for tonight's game against the Pawtucket Red Sox (7:05 p.m.).

Turner, 27, was placed on the disabled list by the Mets on May 29 after suffering a sprained right ankle. In 33 games with New York this season, Turner has hit .269 (18-67) with five doubles, 10RBI and nine runs scored.

Turner began the 2011 season with the Bisons and hit .300 (12-40) over 10 games before spending the rest of the season with the Mets. He hit .260 (113-435) with four home runs and 51RBI in 117 games for the Amazins last year. In 2010, Turner hit .333 (104-312) with 11 home runs and 35RBI in 78 games with the Bisons. He became the only Bisons player to record six hits in a game in the modern era and the last to hit for the cycle when he went 6-6 on September 6, 2010 in Rochester.
