Chiefs to Welcome Johnson Family of Tully to Throw First Pitch on Friday
June 14, 2012 - International League (IL1)
Syracuse Mets News Release
Syracuse, NY - The Syracuse Chiefs, the Triple-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, are happy to announce that retired Syracuse Deputy Fire Chief Dave Johnson and his family will throw out the ceremonial first pitch as part of Home Builders & Remodelers of Central New York Night on Friday, June 15 when the Chiefs play the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees at Alliance Bank Stadium.
The Johnson Family, of Tully, recently had a home "makeover," thanks in part to the work and donations of Home Builders & Remodelers members. Johnson and his wife Diana have raised three biological children, in addition to adopting 14 kids, and fostering another 12. The Johnson's home was in dire need of remodeling due to medical and space needs of the family.
"Dave Johnson, and all firefighters for that matter, are the true heroes of our community," Chiefs general manager John Simone said. "And when you consider what Dave and his wife Diana have done in opening their home to so many children, it's just amazing. They're remarkable people, and we're humbled to have them throwing out the first pitch at a Chiefs game."
Besides the Johnson Family's first pitch, Home Builders & Remodelers of Central New York Night will also feature members of the Home Builders & Remodelers showcasing their products and services.
The Home Builders & Remodelers of Central New York is a non-profit trade association representing more than 200 business members, who employ more than 12,500 people in the Syracuse metropolitan area. HBR of CNY members include residential builders, remodelers, and allied businesses related to the housing industry. To learn more, visit www.hbrcny.com or contact Mary M.
