Mets Send Bisons RHP Pedro Beato to Boston Red Sox to Complete Trade

The New York Mets today announced that Buffalo Bisons RHP PEDRO BEATO has been assigned on a waiver claim to the Boston Red Sox to complete the August 14 trade that brought Kelly Shoppach to New York for a player to be named later.
Beato, 25, pitched in 24 games (one start) for the Bisons this year and posted a 4-4 record and a 4.14ERA. He allowed 32 hits in 37.0 innings of work with 27 strikeouts. Beato began the season with the Mets and did not receive a decision in seven games New York. He compiled a 10.38 ERA (4.1IP, 5ER) with five strikeouts and two walks.
