Syracuse Mets News Release

Moosic, PA - Friday night's game between the Syracuse Mets and the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders was suspended because of rain and unsafe field conditions with one out in the bottom of the first inning with the Mets leading, 1-0. The game will resume on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Following the completion of Friday's nine-inning game, a seven-inning game will start 30 minutes after to conclusion of the first game.

After a rain delay of the start of the game of an hour and 56 minutes, Syracuse's run on Friday came in the top of the first inning. With one out, Danny Espinosa hit an opposite-field home run over the right-field wall for a 1-0 lead.

Chris Flexen started the game for the Mets and struck out Brad Miller to begin the bottom of the first inning, but with a 3-2 count on Cliff Pennington and rain continuing to fall, the umpires called for the tarp to be put on the field.
