DURHAM, NC - Bulls first baseman Jonathan Aranda drove in a run and third baseman Austin Shenton, designated hitter Alex Jackson and shortstop Vidal Brujan each homered, while first baseman Luken Baker knocked a 2 RBI single and a 2-run homer and left fielder Juan Yepez and third baseman Nick Dunn each mashed a 2-run double in Memphis' 9-4 win over Durham on Wednesday night at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
The Redbirds scored first on a walk, before Yepez and Dunn combined for four runs. Baker's 2-run homer in the following inning extended Memphis' lead to 7-0. The Bulls answered with a single tally in the third, followed by Shenton's homer. Baker knocked a 2-run single in the eighth before Jackson and Brujan each homered as the Bulls fell to the Redbirds 9-4.
Memphis starter Drew Rom (5.0 IP, 1 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 10 SO) earned the victory, while Durham's Jacob Lopez (0.2 IP, 3 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 3 BB, 2 SO) suffered the defeat.
The two teams are scheduled to continue their six-game series at the DBAP on Thursday night, with first pitch set for 6:35pm. Starters for both teams are to be announced.
