
Mechanics stumble against Fury, fall 2-1

MUSKEGON, MI-The Mechanics and Fury play a tight defensive game as three goals were scored between the two teams, however, the Fury were on the plus side with a 2-1 win tonight at L.C. Walker Arena.
Muskegon's Billy Collins scored just one minute and 34 seconds into the game to give the Fury the quick 1-0 lead. It would stay that way until mid-way through the third period.
The Fury scored to take a 2-0 lead but the Mechanics answered back one minute and 31 seconds later to cut the lead in half. Matt Smith scored, his 10th of the year, with the lone assist going to Tom Kotsopoulos. Smith now joins Adam Edinger, Greg Bullock and Mike Burgoyne who all have at least 10 goals.
The game would end in 2-1 as Rod Branch made his 35th start in net, his 6th in a row, and made 22 saves in the loss.
Saturday the Mechanics are in Port Huron and Sunday the Mechanics return home to face the Quad City Mallards at 5:00 p.m.
