Motor City Mechanics News Release
The Motor City Mechanics ownership, Coach Danton Cole, our players, our front office staff, and our fans would like to extend best wishes for a successful recovery to Detroit Red Wing Jiri Fischer.
In the wake of what happened at Joe Louis Arena last Monday night the Mechanics would also like to inform hockey fans about the emergency response first aid provided at Mechanics home games played at the Great Lakes Sports City at 34400 Utica Road in Fraser.
Prior to the season starting the Mechanics partnered with St. Joseph's Healthcare and Medstar Ambulance of Macomb County to provide on site sports medicine care for the hockey team, and first aid to the fans at Mechanics home games.
St. Joseph's Healthcare provides highly trained physicians to cover each Mechanics game and tend to all player related injuries or illness. The St. Joseph's doctors work closely with Mechanics Athletic Trainer John Caloia to make sure the Mechanics are in top physical shape to perform as professional hockey players.
The Mechanics have also partnered with Medstar Ambulance of Macomb County to provide ambulance service at all home games. Medstar is the ambulance of choice for the Motor City Mechanics Hockey Team. Medstar Ambulance staffs paramedics, and has parked on site an Advanced Life Support Ambulance for each and every game the Mechanics play here at "The Garage". Medstar ambulances and crews are trained and equipped with Automatic Eternal Defibrillators a.k.a. AED's and will respond to injuries to both the players and fans. Medstar Ambulance is a Community Based Nonprofit ambulance service, serving residents of Macomb County since 1958. For more information about Medstar Ambulance please contact Public Information Officer Josh Alger at 586-864-7378.
Starting with the November 26th home game against Kalamazoo, Mechanics fans will be introduced to the Medstar Ambulance paramedics prior to the start of each game. If fans should need any type of medical assistance they are encouraged to flag down an usher and the Medstar crew will respond.
It is important that we all continue to educate eachother about the public safety policies and procedures provided at local sporting events. Thanks to all of you for your continued support of Mechanics hockey!
See you at the Garage!
