GLENS FALLS, NY -- The Port Huron Flags tied the game with 48.5 seconds remaining, but the Adirondack Frostbite prevailed in the shootout to pick up a 4-3 win on Friday night at the Glens Falls Civic Center.

Port Huron got off to a quick start, taking a 2-0 lead on a pair of power-play goals. Brad Mehalko started the scoring at 4:08 of the first period, beating Derek Gustafson with a quick shot from the left-wing circle.

Jeff Cameron made it 2-0 at 11:43 of the opening period, beating Gustafson with a slap shot from the top of the right-wing circle.

Adirondack got on the scoreboard at 14:46 of the opening period as Scott Drevitch beat goaltender Jeremy Symington with a long shot from the blue line.

Sylvain Cloutier scored the tying goal at 17:51, as he took a Hugo Belanger pass right in front, and redirected past Symington for his sixth goal of the season.

After a scoreless second period, the Frostbite took their first lead of the night 4:39 into the third period. Mike Berry won a face-off to Blue Bennefield on the right-wing boards. Bennefield floated a perfect pass for Drevitch at the center point. Symington got a piece of the shot, but the puck trickled behind him for Drevitch's second of the night.

Port Huron got a power-play opportunity with 2:41 left, and would pull Symington to make it a 6-on-4 advantage. The Flags capitalized with 48.5 seconds left. After Gustafson made the initial save on a Logan Hunter shot, Ryan Gillis pinched in from the blue line and slid a shot past Gustafson to send the game to the shootout.

In the shootout, Mike Berry and Kevin Watters scored in the first two rounds to give Adirondack a 2-0 edge. Brett Lutes sliced the Frostbite advantage to one with a goal in the third round, but Gustafson stopped Ryan Markham and Derrick Atkinson on the next two shots to pick up the win.

The Frostbite head to Danbury on Saturday for a 7:30 p.m. face-off against the Trashers. Catch all of the action on WCKM 98.5 starting with the pre-game show at 7:10 p.m.
