Flint Generals top Motor City 4-3

Flint, MI - Tonight the Flint Generals were proud tonight to send Kevin's familiar No. 20 into retirement alongside Bob Perani's No. 1, Doug Manchak's No. 16, Brett MacDonald's No. 77 and Stephan Brochu's No. 5. In a pre-game ceremony Kevin Kerr was presented with a painting from Commissioner Richard Brosal and his framed #20 jersey from General's owner Dr. Kahled Shukairy. Flint head coach and former teammate Bobby Reynolds also spoke and Bob Perani, whose jersey is also retired in the rafters was also on hand for the occasion.

1st Period - Motor City scored the first goal of the game but Flint quickly responded with a goal by newcomer Robin Richards to even the game at 1-1. Flint took a 2-1 lead into the second period on a goal by Sean Starke late in the first period.

2nd Period - Most of the second period remained scoreless until Flint's Jason Selleke capitalized on a 5-3 man advantage giving the Generals a 3-1 lead going into the third period.

3rd Period - The Mechanics cut the lead to 3-2 midway through the final period but Flint's Terry Marchant answered with a goal with under five minutes remaining to give the Generals a 4-2 lead. The final score was 4-3 Generals as Motor City scored a late goal.
