FLINT, MI- The Motor City Mechanics looked to rebound after a 4-1 loss to the Muskegon Fury Thanksgiving night, however, they fall short in front of 2,014 fans at Perani's Arena & Event Center.
The Mechanics jumped out in front first as Adam Edinger (7) would beat Flint goaltender Peter Brady at 2:34 for the 1-0 lead. Chris Bogas (2) would tally the lone assist. Flint would respond with two goals of their own to take the 2-1 lead into the intermission.
Only one goal was scored in the second as Flint would score on the power play to take a 3-1 lead into the second intermission.
The Mechanics made it 3-2 at 13:12 as Edinger (8) would score again with the helper by Henry Acres (3). After Flint would score again to go up 4-2 the Mechanics responded with another goal at 17:51 by Peter Szabo (3). Brent Gretzky (12) and Edinger (5) tallied the assists.
The Mechanics out shot the Generals 32 to 29 while Rod Branch made his seventh start in a row making 25 saves.
Adam Edinger continues at a high pace netting his fourth and fifth goals in the past four games played. Edinger also netted his seventh point in the past four games played.
The Mechanics return to action tomorrow night when they face the Kalamazoo Wings at "the Garage." Tomorrow is also a Team Photo Giveaway presented by Dr. Kathleen Abate, Team Dentist and 106.7 The Drive.
