Kalamazoo Wings News Release
A winning streak will come to an end tonight as the Kalamazoo Wings travel to the Rockford MetroCentre to play the Rockford IceHogs. The K-Wings have been on a recent tear, winning a current league best seven straight games. The IceHogs are also back to their winning ways. After snapping a two-game winless streak on November 18th, Rockford has rattled off three straight victories.
The K-Wings come into the MetroCentre looking to regain a share of first place in the Central Division. Kalamazoo trails the Muskegon Fury, who are idle tonight, by just two points for the top spot in the division. While the K-Wings did defeat the IceHogs in the last encounter last week at Wings Stadium, Kalamazoo will be looking to avenge a 3-2 November 2nd loss here at the MetroCentre.
No team in the United Hockey League has cumulated more points than the Rockford IceHogs. With 27 points, the IceHogs have an eight-point lead over the Quad City Mallards for first place in the Western Division. Rockford has generated a majority of their victories through a high-octane offense that has produced a league tying high 67 goals.
