MCALLEN, TEXAS - The defending NBA Development League champion Rio Grande Valley Vipers announced Monday that guard Jerel McNeal (6-3, 200, Marquette) is an NBA Development League co-performer of the week.

While helping the Vipers to a 4-0 record, McNeal averaged 20.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 6.8 assists as the starting point guard. McNeal recorded his first double-double with 14 points and a career-high 10 assists while committing just three turnovers on a 103-70 win over the Springfield Armor on Saturday. He scored a game-high 26 points in a 106-91 victory over the Maine Red Claws on Sunday.

"Jerel's done a great job of stepping up while we've been short-handed. He's been doing a great job all season for us, particularly over the last couple of months and we're really happy for him," Vipers head coach Chris Finch said.

Overall, McNeal is averaging 19.0 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.4 assists in 38 games. He is the only Vipers player to start every game this season.

He shares the honor with Utah Flash forward Brandon Costner (6-9, 235, NC State), who averaged 21.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.7 blocks while helping the Flash to a 3-0 record.
