McIlveen and Cunningham Loaned to Norfolk

Elmira, NY- The Elmira Jackals, proud member of the ECHL, are pleased to announce that forward Paul McIlveen and defenseman Wes Cunningham have been loaned to the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League. The Admirals are in Bridgeport tonight to take on the Sound Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Both players will return to Elmira after tonight's game.

With the loan of Brandon Roach to Quad City yesterday and McIlveen and Cunningham to Norfolk today, the Jackals have sent 12 different free agents on to American Hockey League this season.

Paul McIlveen will make his first American Hockey League appearance tonight after leading the Jackals with 6 points (2 goals 4 assists) in the three games last week. McIlveen currently sits in fourth place on the Jackals points leader board with 14 goals and 22 assists (36 points). The 22 year old Waterloo, Ontario product has been the Jackals top performer over the past 10 games netting four goals and adding nine assists for 13 points while holding a plus four rating.

Rookie defenseman Wes Cunningham will also make his first AHL appearance tonight. The Dresden, Ontario product currently places seventh in scoring for Elmira with nine goals and 21 assists for 30 points in 55 games. Cunningham also ranks 13th for all defenseman in the ECHL in scoring and second among rookies.

"Over our last 15 games our young team has played much better, it gives you a good feeling when deserving players get their first opportunity to play in the AHL" Steve Martinson stated.
