
McCollum and Rufenach Headed to Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Detroit Red Wings on Monday recalled left wing Chris Conner, defenseman Doug Janik and goaltender Jordan Pearce from the Grand Rapids Griffins. Additionally, the Red Wings reassigned goaltender Tom McCollum to Grand Rapids from the ECHL's Toledo Walleye, while the Griffins recalled defenseman Bryan Rufenach from Toledo.
Conner, 28, was assigned to Grand Rapids following the Red Wings' 2-1 loss to Chicago on Sunday afternoon. The Livonia, Mich., native is fourth on Grand Rapids with 36 points (11-24-36) in 41 contests. He has skated in seven games with the Red Wings this season, recording one goal, two assists and a plus-two rating.
A native of Agawam, Mass., Janik has played in all 56 games for the Griffins this season, posting 26 points (7-19-26) and a team-best plus-18 rating. The 31-year-old was a plus-two in his Red Wings' season debut on Feb. 28 at Columbus. Janik has 18 points (3-15-18) in 182 career NHL games with Buffalo, Tampa Bay, Dallas, Montreal and Detroit.
The 25-year-old Pearce has posted a 3-7-1 record, a 3.53 goals against average and a 0.874 save percentage in 17 appearances with Grand Rapids this season. In 67 career contests with the team, the Alaska, Anchorage, native sports a 24-25-6 record with a 3.13 GAA and two shutouts.
McCollum, 22, returns to the Griffins after being reassigned to Toledo on Feb. 27. The Sanborn, N.Y., native has a 6-8 record with a 3.59 GAA and a 0.883 save percentage in 15 games with the club this season. He owns a 6-6-2 record, a 2.62 GAA and a 0.909 save percentage in 15 contests with the Walleye this season.
A native of Barrie, Ontario, the 22-year-old Rufenach ranks second among ECHL defensemen with 13 goals and 11th with 31 points (13-18-31). A first-year pro who spent four seasons at Clarkson University, Rufenach has recorded one assist in three games with the Griffins this season.
