
Matt Keetley Loaned to the Houston Aeros

CONDORSTOWN, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors announced today that G Matt Keetley has been loaned to the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL). Houston is the AHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild. This is Keetley's second stint in the AHL this season as he was loaned to Syracuse in January.
The Medicine Hat, AB native is 12-18-1-2 on the season with a 2.97 goals-against average (GAA) and a .910 save percentage. He has been a key to the Condors resurgence recently as in his last nine decisions, Keetley is 6-2-0-1 with a 2.30 GAA and a .926 save percentage.
"It looks like this could be a short-term thing and he may be back for us this week," said Condors Head Coach Matt O'Dette. "But, it is a great opportunity for him at the next level and he definitely deserves the chance."
Keetley will head to Abbotsford, BC as the Aeros open up a two-game set with the Abbotsford Heat on Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m. They wrap up the series on Wednesday at 7 p.m. A fifth round draft pick of the Calgary Flames in 2005, Keetley will have a homecoming of sorts having spent nearly all of the last two seasons wih the Heat.

The Condors take their road trip on to Boise, ID for a pivotal three-game series with the Idaho Steelheads, beginning on Wednesday at 6:10 p.m. Idaho currently holds the seventh and final playoff spot in the Western Conference, 11 points ahead of the Condors with 13 games remaining for each team. Bakersfield is 6-3-0-1 in their last 10 games while the Steelheads are 0-8-0-2.
