LHP Blair Walters makes his second start of the season tonight in the finale of Carolina's five game series against the Red Sox in Salem. The series is currently tied at 2-2 and Walters looks to lead the Mudcats to the series clinching victory in tonight's rubber game.
Walters is 1-0 with a 3.07 ERA over eight games and one start this season. He last pitched on 5/6 at Five County Stadium against the Lynchburg Hillcats. Walters started the second game of a doubleheader on 5/6 and was able to keep the Hiilcats scoreless over three innings. He allowed three hits and struck out two his last time out. Walters is 1-0 with a 1.08 ERA over eight home games (eight games, one start) this season, but 0-0 with a 5.68 ERA on the road. His lone victory of the season came against the Red Sox on 4/24. Walters also has a 6.43 ERA over four appearances (4g, 7ip, 8h, 6r, 5er, 3bb, 6so) against Salem this season.
