CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Missouri Mavericks produced a three-goal outburst in the first 5:47 of the third period to erase a 2-0 deficit on Saturday night in Cincinnati. Missouri carried play for long stretches in the first and got off to a good start with the very first shift. The Mavs generated three quality shots within the first minute but Cyclones goalie Michael Houser stopped each of those to weather the early storm. Houser continued to shine throughout the opening period and stopped each of the 13 shots he faced. At the other end of the ice Josh Robinson successfully turned away the first seven shots he saw. The eighth, though, was a point shot by Jaynen Rissling that dodged through traffic and beat a screened Robinson with 1:34 left in the period.

Robinson shined for the Mavs in the second period with 19 saves, including a pair of breakaways by the Cyclones. Despite Robinson's best efforts Cincinnati did cash in one goal to build its lead to 2-0 midway through the period. Just after the Mavericks' first power play of the game expired Andrew Yogan pounced on a rebound and punched it across the line for his 11th goal of the season. Missouri had difficulties generating offense in the middle frame and was limited to just four shots on goal.

Missouri regrouped at the intermission and paid Robinson back for his second-period effort with a three-goal surge. Darren Nowick started the onslaught just 38 seconds into the third with his fourth of the season. He followed up with his fifth at 5:25 and Dane Fox potted a highlight-reel goal 22 seconds later. From low on the right wing Fox banked a shot off of Houser's shoulder and in to give the Mavericks the lead. That lasted just 40 seconds, though, as Peter Leblanc sniped a shot top shelf to tie the game.

The offenses went quiet through the rest of regulation and overtime so it took a shootout to decide the winner. Yogan, Leblanc and Tommy Mele scored for the Cyclones in the breakaway competition to best the Mavericks' goals by Carzo and Illo.

Robinson lost a shootout decision for the second time this season but stopped 37 of 40 through regulation and overtime. The Mavericks ended the night 0-for-2 on the power play and 4-for-4 on the penalty kill.
