Marcotte Nets Pair in 2-1 Win over Rush

Rapid City, SD (Dec. 3rd) - Louick Marcotte scored twice, including the game-winner early in the third period to propel Wichita past Rapid City on Saturday night by the final of 2-1 at Rushmore Plaza Civic Center.
Alexis Loiseau, Nathan Moon, Martin Nemcik and Ryan Tesink each added assists while Scott Greenham stopped 35 shots in the winning effort.
The Thunder struck first just two minutes into the game when Marcotte's shot re-directed near the net and somehow found its way past Adam Morrison to make it 1-0. Rapid City tied the game on the power play with less than three minutes to go in the first. Zach Tolkinen put a one-timer past Scott Greenham for his second of the season.
Marcotte recorded his second of the contest at 1:21 of the third during a two-man advantage. He fired a one-timer past Morrison to make it 2-1 in favor of the Thunder. Rapid City outshot Wichita 13-2 in the final period, but Scott Greenham wouldn't allow another past him to preserve the victory.
Wichita grabs four points on the weekend and stopped Rapid City's point-streak at eight games. Marcotte recorded his first multi-goal game of the season. His game-winning goal was also the first two-man advantage marker for the Thunder this year. Greenham earned his sixth win, stopping 35 of 36 shots. Morrison suffers the loss, stopping 23 of 25 shots he faced.
Wichita went 1-for-3 on the power play. Rapid City was 1-for-4 on the man advantage.
The Thunder returns home to start a three-in-three beginning on Friday against the Allen Americans at 7:05 p.m. Friday is Teddy Bear Toss Night, presented by Bank of the West and Hajoca. Bring a new or gently used teddy bear and when the Thunder score their first goal, fans can toss them on the ice. Players and staff will donate every stuffed animal to local charities and hospitals for the holidays.
