Last Night
Nolan LaPorte scored twice and C.J. Motte made 41 saves as the Mallards rolled past the host Brampton Beast 6-1.
Splitsville
With last night's win the Mallards earned a split of their two-game series in Brampton. The Mallards fell to the Beast 4-3 on Thursday before rebounding last night.
Rolling
The Mallards have won four of their last five games.
Central
The Mallards remain one point ahead of the Fort Wayne Komets in third place in the Central Division.
One-Sided
Last night's win was the Mallards' most lopsided victory of the season. Yesterday evening's five-goal margin of victory exceeded the Mallards' previous season high margin of four established in last Saturday's 6-2 win in Fort Wayne.
Six
The Mallard last night matched a team single game season high by scoring six times. They have now rung up six goals in two of their last three games- they did so for the first time this season in last Saturday's victory in Fort Wayne.
Fireworks
The Mallards broke open last night's game by scoring three second period goals in a team season-best four minutes and two seconds. Michael Parks started that outburst by scoring the third Mallard goal of the game exactly six minutes into the second- and just 13 seconds after David Pacan scored for Brampton. LaPorte scored his first of the evening and the Mallards' fourth of the game at 7:17 and Brady Brassart gave the Mallards a commanding 5-1 lead at 10:02.
Shorties
Brassart and LaPorte last night scored the Mallards' first two shorthanded goals of the season. Brassart's second period strike was the Flock's first man-down goal. LaPorte scored the second into an empty next with just 59 seconds left in the game.
Second
Over their last three games, the Mallards have scored eight second period goals while surrendering just two.
Third
Over their last three games, the Mallards have scored seven third period goals while allowing only one.

The Mallards allowed 42 shots last night and have now surrendered 40 or more shots five times this season.
Three-in-Three
The Mallards tonight play a third game in three days for the second time this season. On the only prior occasion they played for the third time in as many days, the Mallards fell 3-2 to the Wheeling Nailers on November 20 on home ice. Double Your Fun
Rookie LaPorte last night scored two goals in a game for the first time in his career. LaPorte has recorded two points in each of his last two games. He registered a pair of assists against the Beast Thursday. Rookie Grant Arnold last night enjoyed his first career two-point game. Arnold picked up two assists to double his season total in both assists and points.
Multiplicity
Andrew Panzarella (one goal and one assist) and Alex Petan (one goal and one assist) joined LaPorte and Arnold in collecting two points apiece last night.
Between the Pipes
C.J. Motte last night made 41 saves on the way to his third straight victory (1.95, .946) and his eighth win in his last nine starts. Motte ranks second in the ECHL in save percentage (.944), is tied for second in wins (8) and ranks third in goals against average (1.93).
Special Teams
The Mallards went 0-for-2 on the power play last night and have now failed to convert their last 15 man advantages over four games. They rank thirteenth in the ECHL on the power play (17.1 percent). The Mallards last night scored their first two shorthanded goals of the season in the process of killing off all three Brampton advantages. The Mallards have now survived their foes' last twelve power plays over four games. They are tied for eighth in the league in penalty killing (86.8).
Head-to-Head
Tonight's game is the finale of the Mallards' two-game season series with Toledo. The Mallards opened the season series with a 4-2 home win over the Walleye on November 11. Tonight's game is also the third all-time meeting between the two clubs. Last season the Walleye defeated the Mallards 3-2 in overtime on January 31 in Toledo.
