Matt Auffrey' Two Goals Power Augusta Past Mississippi

BILOXI, MS - The Mississippi Sea Wolves (7-15-1) lost to the Augusta Lynx by a score of 3-0 on Saturday evening at James Brown Arena in Augusta, Georgia.

After a scoreless first period, Matt Auffrey score the first of his two goals on the evening at 6:57 of the second period, when he pounded the rebound of a shot from Igor Pohanka past Sea Wolves goaltender Ryan Munce with the Lynx on the power play.

Auffrey would score his second of the game at 2:45 of the third, breaking in on net and tucking the puck through Munce's legs to give Augusta a 2-0 lead. The Lynx made it 3-0 with Jeremy Schenderling's power-play goal at 19:10 of the third period.

Bobby Goepfert made 26 saves and earned an assist in the shutout win for Augusta. Ryan Munce made 35 saves taking the loss for Mississippi, and the Sea Wolves were 2-for-6 on the power play.
