Trenton Devils News Release

READING, PA - Ryan Gunderson picked up the first three-point game of his career, powering the Devils past the Bombers in an exciting 4-3 win in overtime. Mark Pandolfo would pick up two goals and four Devils notched multi-point games in the win.

Gunderson's overtime winner developed on a play in the corner by Trevor Kell. Fighting off a defender, Kell forced the puck to Tony Zancanaro, who picked up his second assist of the game with a perfect pass to Gunderson in the slot. Gunderson did not miss his chance, beating Bombers netminder Rejean Beauchemin through the five-hole.

The Devils jumped out early in the game, when Pandolfo scored the quickest goal of Trenton's season. Taking advantage of an early power play, Pandolfo found the back of the net 1:17 into the first for his second goal of the season. The AHL veteran received the feed from Gunderson and Jim Henkel, who also gained a multi-point night.

The Devils then proved their stubborn presence in the Bombers zone via Andrew Leach less than four minutes later. The left winger chipped the puck past Beauchemin after picking a rebound off the skate of a Bomber defenseman. Assisting the play were Zancanaro and Thomas Harrison, who found his third assist of the season.

Thanks to a wayward rebound off Dave Caruso, Yannick Tifu was able to put the Bombers on the board heading into the intermission. Tifu, who notched five assists against the Devils in October, would pick up two points this evening. The Bombers would the take the lead off of goals by Brad Bonello and Chris Eade.

The Devils answered the Bombers efforts when Pandolfo earned his second goal 16:17 into the second. The Devils were on the power play when the forward took a shot from the top of the slot that was blocked by Beauchemin. Pandolfo, poised to intercept the rebound, sent a shot past the pads of Dayton's netminder to tie the score at three.

A scoreless third period sent the teams to overtime, where Dave Caruso picked up his sixth win of the season. The Trenton netminder stopped four sure-fire goals in the extra-frame, posting 17 saves on 20 chances for the victory.

The Trenton Devils return home on December 12th, when they face the Reading Royals at Sovereign Bank Arena at 7:00pm. Tune into WBCB 1490 or go online to www.trentondevils.com and listen or watch live courtesy of B2 Networks.
