Portland Sea Dogs News Release

Portland, Maine- Boston Red Sox right-handed pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka is expected to make a Major League rehabilitation start for the Portland Sea Dogs on Sunday, August 30th at MerchantsAuto.com Stadium in Manchester, New Hampshire in game one of a scheduled doubleheader at 4:05 PM against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays).

In 2008, he set a career high in wins notching an 18-3 record with a 2.90 ERA. He was named both the 2006 and 2009 World Baseball Classic MVP pitching for Japan. The Tokyo, Japan native was signed by the Red Sox on December 14, 2006.

Sunday will feature a doubleheader, consisting of two seven inning games, starting at 4:05 PM. Sea Dogs' left-handed pitcher Kris Johnson will start for the Sea Dogs on Saturday, August 29th.
