Mike Penny, General Manager of the Toronto Marlies, announced Wednesday that the club has signed defencemen Bryan Muir, Todd Perry and Patrick Wellar, in addition to forward Joe Cooper, to standard player's contracts. In keeping with club policy, terms of the contracts were not disclosed.

A native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Muir appeared in two preseason games with the Maple Leafs and was held pointless. A veteran of 279 NHL games, Muir played the last two seasons with the Washington Capitals amassing 33 points (11 goals, 22 assists) while collecting 114 penalty minutes. Cooper, Perry and Wellar appeared in all three pre-season games with the Marlies as the team went 2-0-1 in exhibition action.

The Marlies also announced Wednesday that goaltender Todd Ford has been assigned to the team's ECHL affiliate in Columbia, South Carolina. Ford was the goaltender of record in Friday's 5-3 pre-season win over the Moose in Fort Frances, ON. The Calgary native made 32 saves to earn the victory in his lone exhibition appearance with the club. Wellar and Cooper join Ford in being assigned to the Inferno.

Marlies' 2007-08 season ticket packages, reflecting the team's new ticket pricing structure and a variety of unique benefits are now on sale.
