Admirals Present the "Hunt for Pink October"

MILWAUKEE, WI - The Milwaukee Admirals will pay tribute to Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a series of events in the month of October as part of the "Hunt for Pink October", it was announced today by Team President, Jon Greenberg.
One of the highlights of the month's events will be a visit by Deanna Favre, a breast cancer survivor, and wife of legendary Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre, on Wednesday, October 24 when the Admirals take on the Quad City Flames at the Bradley Center at 7 pm. Deanna will be signing her new book, "Don't Bet Against Me" which is raising proceeds for the Deanna Favre HOPE Foundation.
The mission of the Deanna Favre HOPE Foundation is to provide assistance to women who are underserved or underinsured in their battle against breast cancer. For more information on the HOPE Foundation visit www.deannafavre4hope.com.
"I appreciate partnering with the Milwaukee Admirals and their using this opportunity to bring awareness to this disease during Breast Cancer Awareness month," said Mrs. Favre. "With everyone's support I truly believe we can irradicate Breast Cancer, and with the help of the Admirals, our foundation will be able to help countless women with the disease."
The Admirals will be raising money for the HOPE Foundation through a series of sales including pink Admirals hats and the player's game-worn home helmets which will feature the symbolic pink breast cancer ribbon during October.
The Admirals game helmets will be available for bid throughout the month at games and by phone with the final bids coming at the end of the second intermission of the game on October 27 and autographed by the players afterward. The silent auction will begin on Friday, October 12 at 6 pm at the Digicopy Information table located outside of section 225 at the Bradley Center.
Pink Admirals hats will be sold for $20 at the Digicopy Information during the games while supplies last.
In addition, the Admirals will be painting the ice pink for their games on October 19th, 24th and 27th to raise awareness for Breast Cancer Research, a first for the Admirals and the Bradley Center.
"Breast cancer affects thousands of women in Wisconsin and throughout the country every day," said Greenberg. "By teaming with Deanna Favre and the HOPE Foundation, the Admirals hope to educate people and raise a lot of money to support her efforts to assist women in their battle with this disease."
Also, Master Lock, a great Admirals sponsor, is providing 100 pink locks which will be given out randomly during the four October games. Master Lock has produced these special locks in support of Breast Cancer research.
On October 19 when the Admirals face the Iowa Stars, the first 5,000 fans will receive a 2007-08 Admirals schedule poster featuring a pink ribbon and on October 27, the first 5,000 fans will receive pink cheer sticks.
