Canucks Assign McIver to Moose

The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose, announced they have assigned defenceman Nathan McIver to the Moose.

McIver, 22, made his National Hockey League debut last season for Vancouver versus the Anaheim Ducks on Nov. 9/06 and collected seven penalty minutes. The Summerside, PEI native also appeared in 63 games with the Moose where he scored a goal and two assists for three points and 139 penalty minutes - the second-most on the team in 2006-07. McIver only appeared in two games during the Calder Cup playoffs after suffering a high ankle sprain in the opening round versus Grand Rapids. In his rookie season, McIver played in 66 games with Manitoba where he scored a goal and six assists for seven points and 155 penalty minutes, as well as playing in 12 Calder Cup playoff games in 2006.

McIver was originally Vancouver's eighth round draft choice, 254th overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
