Bulldogs Trim Seven Players From Training Camp Roster

HAMILTON, ON - Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Julien BriseBois announced today the assignment of forwards Mathieu Aubin, Thomas Beauregard and David Desharnais, as well as netminder Cedrick Desjardins to the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL. Goaltender Loic Lacasse has also been sent to the Bloomington PrairieThunder of the International Hockey League and the Bulldogs have released defencemen Dominic D'Amour and David Cornacchia from their Professional Tryout (P.T.O.) contracts.

The Hamilton Bulldogs now have 26 players on their roster:

Returning players from last season include forwards Ajay Baines, Jimmy Bonneau, Matt D'Agostini, Jonathan Ferland, Maxim Lapierre, Francis Lemieux, Corey Locke, Eric Manlow, Duncan Milroy and Cory Urquhart, defencemen Andrew Archer, Mathieu Biron, Jean-Philippe Cote, Jon Gleed and Ryan O'Byrne, and goaltenders Jaroslav Halak and Yann Danis. Other returning players that spent time with Hamilton last season, but never played a game, include forwards Greg Stewart and Sergei Kostitsyn, and defenceman Mathieu Carle.

Newcomers include forwards Janne Lahti (HPK Hameenlinna - FNL) and Ryan Russell (Kootenay - WHL), and defencemen Pavel Valentenko (Nizhnekamsk - RSL), Jamie Rivers (Peoria - AHL / St. Louis - NHL), Marvin Degon (Hartford - AHL) and Gerard Miller (Flint - UHL).

As the Bulldogs prepare for their season opener at 6:05 p.m. on Sunday, October 7th, 2007 when they travel to Rochester to take on the Americans at Blue Cross Arena, all practices are now closed to the public.
