
Marlies Set American Hockey League Road Wins Record

The Toronto Marlies set the American Hockey League record for road wins in one season with their 29th win this afternoon in a 5-4 win against the Manitoba Moose. With a 29-5-0-1 road record, all 29 wins came in regulation for the Marlies this season.
The Marlies faced 15 different teams, outscoring their opponents 125-71. Three goaltenders contributed to this record - Kasimir Kaskisuo (1-0-0-0), Calvin Pickard (13-1-0-0) and Garret Sparks (14-4-0-1). Ben Smith leads the Marlies in away goals (18) and points (33), with Chris Mueller as the team leader in assists (17). Toronto went 126-for-139 (90.6%) on the penalty kill and 31-for-157 (19.7%) on the power play.
The Toronto Marlies are the primary development program for the Toronto Maple Leafs. The current Toronto Maple Leafs roster features 13 players who were developed by the Marlies (Tyler Bozak, Connor Brown, Connor Carrick, Travis Dermott, Jake Gardiner, Zach Hyman, Andreas Johnsson, Nazem Kadri, Kasperi Kapanen, Leo Komarov, Josh Leivo, William Nylander and Morgan Rielly).
