Maple Leafs Make Roster Moves

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Saturday that they have recalled forward Aaron Gavey from the St. John's Maple Leafs of the American Hockey League. In addition, the club also announced that forward Clarke Wilm has been re-assigned to St. John's.

Gavey, 29, has played 46 games for St. John's this season collecting 38 points (13 goals, 25 assists) with 74 penalty minutes. He ranks first on the team in assists, first in points and third in goals. The native of Sudbury, Ontario has played 355 career NHL games for Tampa Bay, Calgary, Dallas, Minnesota and Toronto collecting 91 points (41 goals, 50 assists) with 270 penalty minutes. Gavey was signed by Toronto as an unrestricted free agent July 24, 2002. He was originally Tampa Bay's fourth choice, 74th overall in the 1992 Entry Draft. Gavey will wear sweater number 10.

Wilm, 27, has played nine games for Toronto this season collecting seven penalty minutes. He has also played 30 games for St. John's collecting 20 points (eight goals, 12 assists) with 56 penalty minutes. Wilm has played 394 career NHL games for Calgary, Nashville and Toronto collecting 89 points (36 goals, 53 assists) with 293 penalty minutes.

The Maple Leafs play the Cleveland Barons tonight at Mile One Stadium. The game will be broadcast LIVE on Radio NL (930AM) and www.sjmapleleafs.ca at 7:30pm (NT).
