Calgary loans goaltender Krahn to San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO – Feb. 3, 2004 – San Antonio Rampage General Manager Bobby Jay announced today that the Calgary Flames have loaned goaltender Brent Krahn to the Rampage and released goaltender Marco Emond from his professional tryout offer (PTO).

Krahn, 21, a first round draft choice (9th overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft by the Calgary Flames, joins the Rampage after playing a split season for Lowell Lock Monsters (AHL) and Las Vegas Wranglers (ECHL). The 6-foot-4, 206-pound goalie has played in 14 games with the Wranglers, posting a 7-5-2 record and a .925 save percentage. Prior to the Wranglers home opener, Winkler, Manitoba native was called up to the Lock Monsters, logging 2-3-0 in seven games with a 2.62 goals against average.

The 27-year old Emond will return to the Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League.

The Rampage begin a 12-game road swing beginning tomorrow in Chicago against the Wolves. The game will be broadcast on the Ticket 760 AM radio at 7 p.m.
