Last Night

Jared Knight and Vladimir Nikiforov scored second period goals and P.J. Musico made 31 saves as the Mallards defeated the host Komets 2-1.

Streaking

The Mallards have won three straight games.

Playoff Picture

The Mallards hold the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. They are three points ahead of the ninth place Tulsa Oilers and three points behind the seventh place Colorado Eagles. The Mallards have played two more games than Tulsa and Colorado has played one more game than the Mallards.

Thirty

Last night's win was the Mallards' thirtieth of the season. The Mallards have won at least thirty games each of the last six seasons.

Busy

Tonight's game is the second of three in 48 hours for the Mallards, who return home to face the Indy Fuel tomorrow. This is the eighth and final stretch of three games in three nights for the Mallards this season.

On the Road Again

Tonight's game is the last of six straight on the road for the Mallards. They have gone 4-1-0 over the first five games of that road swing.

Musico has started and won three straight games (allowing just four goals in the process) and is unbeaten in regulation (4-0-1) in five games since joining the Mallards in a trade with Greenville last month. He has posted a 1.80 goals against average and a .945 save percentage with the Mallards. Musico and the Mallards have given up just one goal in each of their last two games.

Arch Madness

Olivier Archambault picked up an assist last night to extend his point-scoring streak to six games (2-4-6). Archambault has totaled 11 points (six goals and five assists) in his last ten games.

Rolling

Matt Carey notched an assist last night and has recorded eight points (three goals and five assists) in his last seven games. Carey has maintained his point-per-game pace: he has 38 points in 38 games.

Welcome Back

Knight scored last night in his first game after being assigned to the Mallards- for the fifth time this season- by the American Hockey League's Iowa Wild Thursday.

The Knack

Jordan Knackstedt pocketed an assist last night and now has six assists in his last six games.

Debuts

Forward J.T. Osborn made his professional debut with the Mallards last night after completing his college career at Western Michigan. Defenseman Richard Nedomlel made his Mallard debut last night after being assigned to the Mallards by the American Hockey League's Chicago Wolves.

Special Teams

The Mallards went 1-for-5 on the power play last night while the Komets went 0-for-3. The Mallards have now survived their foes' last 17 power plays. The Mallards are tied for twelfth in the ECHL in penalty killing (84.8 percent) and rank fifteenth on the power play (16.4 percent).

Milestones

Mike Monfredo has played 263 career games for the Mallards and will tie Rick Emmett (264) for eighth place in team history the next time he takes the ice for the Mallards...Nikiforov has 295 career points.

Head to Head

The Mallards have gone 3-2-0 in five games against the Komets this season and have split a pair of games in Fort Wayne. The two clubs will meet for the seventh and final time April 6 at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. All-time, the Mallards have gone 48-49-11 against Fort Wayne. The ECHL is the fourth different league in which the two teams have clashed. They previously competed against each other in the United, International and Central Leagues.
