Both teams sit tied at the top of the standings after Florida earned a 4-3 shootout victory over South Carolina last night. The Stingrays got goals from Kelly Zajac, Stephan Vigier and Patrick Gaul in the contest. Tonight is the last meeting between the Stingrays and the Everblades this season.

GAUL'S TIME

Forward Patrick Gaul scored his fifth goal of the season last night to help force overtime in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Everblades. Gaul has collected goals in three straight games for South Carolina and helped hold Florida to 0-for-2 on the power play. The Pittsburgh native played in his 200th ECHL game last night for South Carolina.

VIGIER LEADS THE WAY

Vigier leads the team in goals, and surpassed last season's team high held by Derek DeBlois who struck 21 times during the 2014-2015 campaign. Vigier is second on the team with 46 points.

The Czech Republic native recorded his second professional shutout last Thursday, stopping 28 shots in a 4-0 win at Greenville. The netminder has won seven straight games for South Carolina and is unbeaten in regulation since January 23. Vanecek sits in sixth place in the ECHL with a 2.08 goals-against average, the top mark among ECHL rookies. He was a second round draft pick of the Washington Capitals in the 2014 NHL Draft.
