Make it 12 in a Row on Home Ice for Walleye Following 2-1 Win over Indy

(Toledo, OH) Josh Shalla put Toledo in front for good with a goal late in the second period in a 2-1 win Sunday night at the Huntington Center. Toledo has an overall record of 35-14-2-3 and 22-5-1-0 at home. Toledo starts a four game road trip Wednesday at Florida.

Toledo started the scoring as A.J. Jenks (21st) came flying up the ice and sent the rebound from Dominic Zombo's shot into the back of the net at 12:07 of the first period. The Fuel didn't take long to tie the game as Daniel Ciampini beat Jake Paterson at 12:54 of the opening period.

It took most of the second period but Toledo regained the lead when Josh Shalla buried his 14th goal of the year at 17:09. Indy defenseman Zach Miskovic grabbed Shalla but Josh was still able to beat Fuel net minder Keegan Asmundson.

Toledo held Indy to seven shots on goal in the third period and outshot the Fuel 32-25 for the contest.

Walleye Notes: Goaltender Jake Paterson finished with 24 saves on the 25 shots he faced for his fifth straight win and a record is 12-8-1-1. Toledo's last loss at the Huntington Center came to Utah on January 23 (5-3 loss). The 12 straight home wins is the most in Walleye history.
