New York Red Bulls News Release

HARRISON, N.J. - Major League Soccer announced today the next three matches for each MLS team, taking place between September 18 and 27. The Red Bulls will have two home matches, hosting FC Cincinnati and the Montreal Impact, and will make their first trip to Inter Miami CF Stadium.

The Red Bulls host Cincinnati on September 19 at 7 p.m. before traveling to Miami on Wednesday, September 23 at 8 p.m. ET. New York is back home to host Montreal on Sunday, September 27 at 7 p.m. ET. All matches will be telecast on MSG Networks and Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish.

New York is 1-1-0 against Cincinnati this season, taking a 3-0 win in the home opener on March 1 but falling to Cincy in the MLS is Back tournament. The Red Bulls were 0-2-0 against Montreal in 2019 and have not faced the Impact this season. The match against Miami will be New York's first against the 2020 expansion side.

Out of an abundance of caution, matches at Red Bull Arena will remain closed to the public.

In addition to announcing regular season match details through September, MLS also today confirmed qualification details and the competition format for the Audi 2020 MLS Cup Playoffs.

The Audi MLS Cup Playoffs will again consist of single-elimination matches hosted by the higher-seeded team and follow a straight bracket format through MLS Cup on Dec.12.

As previously announced, in an expansion of the postseason for 2020, 18 clubs will compete in the Audi 2020 MLS Cup Playoffs. Eight teams from the 12-team Western Conference will qualify directly to Round 1. The top six seeds from the 14-team Eastern Conference will qualify directly to Round 1. Eastern Conference seeds 7-10 will each compete in a play-in match (No. 7 vs. No. 10, and No. 8 vs. No. 9) to determine the two additional Eastern Conference teams that will qualify for the Audi 2020 MLS Cup Playoffs Round 1.

The lower-seeded advancing team will face the Eastern Conference No. 1 seed in Round 1, while the higher-seeded advancing team will face the Eastern Conference No. 2 seed.

The Red Bulls are in action this Saturday, September 12, facing D.C. United at Audi Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET on MSG and Red Bulls Radio.
