Game Preview: New England Revolution at Philadelphia Union

September 11, 2020 - Major League Soccer (MLS) - New England Revolution News Release

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution (3-2-5, 14 pts.) are set to visit Eastern Conference rival Philadelphia Union (5-2-3, 18 pts.) at Subaru Park on Saturday night. The match kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Boston with Brad Feldman and Charlie Davies calling the action. The contest will also air on 98.5 The Sports Hub, with Portuguese commentary available on WBIX 1260 AM Nossa Radio USA.

New England is looking to pick up its third consecutive road win and the club's first three-game winning streak away from home since 2008. Saturday's match will mark the third meeting between the two sides this season and the second in league play. The third-place Union topped New England, 1-0, in the MLS is Back Tournament Round of 16 on July 25, before battling to a 0-0 draw at Gillette Stadium on August 20. Forward Teal Bunbury has scored all of his team-high four goals on the road this season, including a brace in Chicago on Sept. 6 to lift New England to a 2-1 triumph over the Fire. Bunbury has notched three goals and one assist over the last four matches, trailed closely by Gustavo Bou's two goals in the last four games.

Defender Andrew Farrell, the anchor of a defensive line that ranks tied for third in MLS for the fewest goals allowed per game (0.90), is only 39 minutes shy of becoming the fourth Revolution player to eclipse the 20,000-minute milestone for his MLS career. The eighth-year defender leads all MLS outfield players in starts and minutes played since his career began in 2013. Two other members of the Revolution's All-Time Team are approaching major milestones. Diego Fagundez (251) is three appearances shy of matching Matt Reis (254) for the second-most games played in club history. Midfielder Lee Nguyen, who returned to the Revolution via a trade with Inter Miami CF on Sept. 8 after making 191 appearances over six seasons with the club from 2012-17, is one assist away from becoming the Revolution's first member of the 50-goal and 50-assist club.
