
Mahoney Named Carolina League Player of the Week

Frederick, MD - Frederick Keys first baseman Joe Mahoney has been named Carolina League Player of the Week for the week of June 21 - 27. Mahoney has batted .389 with two home runs and seven RBI's over four games in that span since the beginning of the second half.
Mahoney leads the Keys in most offensive categories including batting average (.315), home runs (9), runs batted in (47), on-base percentage (.377) and slugging percentage (.496). Called up to Frederick in the last week of the 2009 season, Mahoney was the first Atlantic-10 player selected in the 2007 draft when the Orioles took him in the sixth round out of the University of Richmond. The 6-foot-7 right-handed hitter hails from Troy, NY.
