
Magrane now a Bull

MONTGOMERY - The Montgomery Biscuits announced today that the Tampa Bay Devil Rays have promoted Biscuits starting pitcher Jim Magrane to AAA Durham (International League).
Magrane had been 11-8, trailing only teammate Andy Sonnanstine for the league lead in wins. He had a 2.98 ERA in 21 starts. Magrane had struck out 90 and walked 43. The 28-year-old righty has spent parts of each of the last four years at Durham, pitching in 73 games there since 2002.
Lefty Mike Prochaska has been activated from the temporarily inactive list and will take Magrane's place on the active roster and in the pitching rotation. Prochaska is expected to start against the Birmingham Barons on Tuesday. The 26-year-old is 2-3 with a 5.72 ERA in 13 games.
