JACKSONVILLE, FL Spike Lundberg (10-1) pitched seven innings and only allowed one run for Jacksonville in the Suns 8-1 win over the BayBears Monday. The BayBears scored the first run of the game in the first inning on a Stephen Smitherman RBI groundout. Jacksonville tied the game in the second inning on Craig Brazell?s 16th home run this season. The Suns sent seven batters to the plate in the fourth inning, scoring three times. They would score three more times in the fifth and once in the sixth in the win.
Sean Thompson (4-9) lost his third game against Jacksonville this season. Bubba Nelson threw two scoreless innings in relief for the BayBears. Only Colt Morton had a multiple hit game for the BayBears, after going 2-for-4 with a double.
Tuesday Jose Oyervidez (3-9) will pitch against Jacksonville's Scott Elbert (3-1) at 6:05. All BayBears games can be heard on 1480 AM WABB, Comcast Cable Channel 18, and on the internet via mobilebaybears.com.
