Madison, Wis. - Green Bay was back on the road Friday night, squaring off with the Madison Mallards in a battle for first place. The Mallards jumped out to an early lead, before the Bullfrogs came roaring back to tie the game. But, it was not enough, as Madison outlasted Green Bay, 10-7.

All seventeen runs were scored in the games first four innings. Madison started the scoring with a five-run first inning, knocking single after single. When it was all said and done, the Mallards collected five hits in the inning, all singles.

The Bullfrogs were not down by much for long, as they bounced back in the top of the second for a four-run inning of their own. Madison's starting pitcher, Chris Oakley, struggled with his command and walked the first two batters of the inning. Dennis Colon singled home the first run for the Bullfrogs, followed by another walk by Oakley to load the bases.

Jamie Ritchie recorded an RBI single two batters later to make it 5-2. Ivan Vieitez was then walked, collecting an RBI and further trimming the deficit. Oakley was replaced and Dean Long hit into a fielder's choice, cutting the lead to 5-4.

Neither Oakley nor Bullfrog starting pitcher, Ryan McCourt, made it out of the second inning. Madison struck back with two more in the bottom of the second, starting the inning with back to back doubles, followed up with a Joe Dudek single later in the inning, after McCourt was pulled in favor of Luke Heller, to make it 7-4. Dudek finished the night with three runs batted in and reached base four times.

Oakley's final line was 1.1 innings pitched, four earned runs, two hits, and five walks. McCourt went 1+ inning, allowing eight hits and seven runs (six earned), with no strikeouts or walks.

The Bullfrogs rallied back once again in the fourth inning. After Ritchie was hit with a pitch and Dean Long walked, Ryan Howell hit his second home run of the season to tie the game, 7-7. Howell became the second Bullfrog to homer in consecutive games; Matt Beaty was the first to do so in the two-game series with La Crosse. The Bullfrogs now have seven home runs on the season.

Madison answered right back in their home half of the fourth. Dudek came through with the big blow again, a two-run double off of Heller after the first two Mallards reached. Trent Higginbothem had an RBI single later in the inning to push the game to 10-7.

No runs were scored after the fourth inning in the contest. The win was awarded to Ben Neumann. Neumann went 2.1 innings in relief, allowing one hit and two walks while striking out two. The loss was given to Heller, who gave up three runs on three hits in 2.1 innings in relief. Tim Black earned the save for Madison, turning in a dazzling outing. Black recorded the game's final five outs, striking out three while allowing just one hit, a bloop single.

Madison and Green Bay will square off again tomorrow in the series finale at 6:05.
