
Lynx Open 2007 WNBA Regular Season at Indiana Fever on Saturday, May 19

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - The Minnesota Lynx, beginning their ninth WNBA campaign, open the 2007 regular season on Saturday, May 19 at Conseco Fieldhouse against Indiana and return to the Twin Cities for their home opener against reigning Western Conference Champion, Sacramento Monarchs, on Sunday, May 20 at 6 p.m. The 2007 WNBA campaign consists of 34 regular season games (17 home/17 away) from May through August.
"We are very excited about the 2007 Lynx schedule," said Angela Taylor, Lynx Vice President of Business Development. "Fans will have the opportunity to see the best women's basketball players in the world competing against Seimone Augustus, Nicole Ohlde and a talented Lynx team. Working professionals, kids, schools, youth leagues, non-profit organizations and families will have a chance to visit Target Center throughout the summer during the week and on the weekend for some matchups that promise to be entertaining."
Minnesota will be featured on three national telecasts: vs. Indiana on Friday, May 29, at Phoenix on Tuesday, June 5 (7:30 p.m.) and at Connecticut on Tuesday, July 17 (7:30 p.m.). All games will be telecast on ESPN2. The Lynx will also have six games telecast locally on FSN North with the complete television schedule to be released at a later date.
The return of Hutchinson, Minnesota, native, and former University of Minnesota star, Lindsay Whalen, will take place on Wednesday, June 13 when the Connecticut Sun comes to town. Other key dates include Diana Taurasi and the Phoenix Mercury's visits on Tuesday, July 3 and Wednesday, July 25. The Sparks come to town Friday, July 27 and Katie Smith and the defending WNBA Champion Detroit Shock are at Target Center on Thursday, Aug. 16.
Along with the schedule, the Lynx released their popular four-pack ticket plans. Options include a Champions Pack (Sacramento, Houston, Los Angeles and Seattle), Weekend Warriors Pack (Houston, Sacramento, Los Angeles and New York), Rising Stars Pack (Sue Bird, Candice Dupree and Sophia Young) and Weekday Pack (Lindsay Whalen, Tamika Catchings, Diana Taurasi and Katie Smith).
In addition to ticket packages, Lynx fans should check out the new courtside DNP Seats (a.k.a. the Jack Nicholson seats) next to each team's bench. Seating is limited in this area, so interested parties should contact the Lynx Ticket Office as soon as possible.
