
Dispersal Draft to be held involving Sting players
January 4, 2007 - Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) News Release
NEW YORK, Jan. 4, 2007 - A Dispersal Draft involving players on the Charlotte Sting roster will take place on Monday, January 8, via conference call at 1:00 p.m. ET.
All current Sting players, with the exception of unrestricted free agents Allison Feaster and Tammy Sutton-Brown, are eligible to be selected.
The order of selection, based on the inverse order of 2006 regular season finish (without regard to the results of the Lottery), will be as follows:
1) Chicago Sky
2) Minnesota Lynx
3) New York Liberty
4) San Antonio Silver Stars
5) Phoenix Mercury
6) Washington Mystics
7) Seattle Storm
8) Houston Comets
9) Indiana Fever
10) Sacramento Monarchs
11) Detroit Shock
12) Los Angeles Sparks
13) Connecticut Sun
As previously announced, the Sting will not operate next summer. The WNBA will play the 2007 season with 13 teams.
