
Seattle Storm Announce 2007 Regular-Season Schedule

SEATTLE, Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007 - The Seattle Storm today announced its 34-game schedule for the 2007 WNBA regular season, the franchise's eighth year in the league. Highlights of the 2007 Storm schedule, which begins in May, include 10 weekend games against the best in the WNBA such as Los Angeles Sparks, Houston Comets, Indiana Fever and Washington Mystics.
The Storm will open their 2007 season against the Houston Comets on Saturday, May 19 at 7 p.m. The following Wednesday, May 23, Seattle will host the Phoenix Mercury at 7 p.m. at KeyArena. The defending WNBA Champion Detroit Shock will visit KeyArena on Wednesday, June 20.
"Storm fans are very excited to return to KeyArena for a great opening weekend matchup with one of our Western Conference rivals, the Houston Comets," Storm Chief Operating Officer Karen Bryant said. "The organization is looking forward to getting back into KeyArena with Storm fans to tip off our team's eighth WNBA season."
Other marquee games at KeyArena in 2007 include the Storm's matchup with the 2005 WNBA Champion Sacramento Monarchs on Tuesday, July 31. The team's rival Los Angeles Sparks will visit KeyArena on Tuesday, July 3 and Friday, Aug. 17. The Connecticut Sun will make their lone 2007 KeyArena appearance on Wednesday, July 11.
