
Mystics release 2007 schedule

Washington Mystics News Release
Washington, D.C. -The Washington Mystics released its schedule for the 2007 WNBA regular season today. The Mystics will open its 10th season at home against conference rival and two-time Eastern Conference Champion, Connecticut Sun on Saturday, May 19th at 6:00 p.m. The Mystics' camp day game for local children's camps and groups will be on Wednesday, July 18th at 11:30 a.m. and will feature four-time WNBA champions, Houston Comets. Washington is scheduled to be featured on national television when the Sacramento Monarchs visit Verizon Center on May 22nd at 7:30 p.m.
"We look forward to getting our 10th season underway," said Mystics Chief Operating Officer Curtis Symonds. "We want to build on last season's success and provide the best fans in the WNBA a season of exciting basketball."
The WNBA announced that the Charlotte Sting will not operate this summer; therefore the league will hold a Dispersal Draft on January 8th with the Mystics holding the sixth pick.
In 2006, the Mystics recorded a franchise-high 18 wins and returned to the playoffs for the fourth time in team history. Washington's roster currently features National team members DeLisha Milton-Jones and Alana Beard as well as the 2006 WNBA's assists leader, Nikki Teasley.
