Indiana Fever News Release

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Fever has announced its 2007 Women's National Basketball Association schedule. Indiana will play 34 regular-season games beginning with a home and season opener Saturday, May 19, against the Minnesota Lynx and 2006 WNBA Rookie of the Year Seimone Augustus. Preseason games and a television schedule are yet to be announced.

Overall, the Fever's regular season includes 20 games against the Eastern Conference - four games against each of five East opponents - and 14 games against the West. With the recent elimination of the Charlotte franchise, the WNBA returns to a 13-team schedule, the same as in 2004 and 2005.

Schedule highlights for the upcoming season include:

- Indiana's home opener is Saturday, May 19 at Conseco Fieldhouse against Augustus and the Lynx.

- The Fever plays seven of its first 10 games at Conseco Fieldhouse. Indiana later will hit the road for eight of its last 13 games.

- The Fever and Connecticut collide twice within a week in June, then again twice during the season's final two weeks. The Sun and former Indianapolis Perry Meridian prep star Katie Douglas come to Conseco Fieldhouse on Friday, June 22, and again Wednesday, Aug. 15.

- The Fever hosts another pair of former Indiana high school standouts when Shyra Ely and Shanna Zolman visit Indianapolis with the San Antonio Silver Stars on Tuesday, July 24, in their only visit of the season.

- The Fever hosts each Western Conference team once, including each of its first two games - the opener against Minnesota, then Los Angeles on Thursday, May 24.

- The Fever's annual Camp Day takes place with a 1:00 p.m. tipoff on Wednesday, July 18, against I-65 rival Chicago. The Sky also visits on Sunday, July 8.

- The Fever will host games on five Sundays, including an August 19 regular-season finale against defending WNBA champion Detroit. The Shock will make their first Indianapolis appearance on Friday, July 20.
