Lynx Bullpen Gets A Makeover

OTTAWA - LHP Mike Zagurski was recalled by the Phillies today. RHP Brian Sanches was placed on the Temporarily Inactive list yesterday, opening a roster spot for LHP Eude Brito's activation from the Disabled List.

Zagurski, 24, had no record with a 2.00 ERA in seven games with the Lynx after being optioned to Ottawa July 27th. He has struck out 11 batters in nine innings with the Lynx. He made his Major League debut this season with Philadelphia, going 1-0 with a 4.58 ERA in 23 games out of the Phillies bullpen.

Sanches, 29, leads the Lynx with 14 saves. He has accumulated a 3-4 record with a 4.96 ERA in 34 games with Ottawa, including one start. Sanches has struck out 48 batters and walked only seven. He also made 11 appearances with the Phillies this season, going 1-1 with a 6.39 ERA.

Brito, 28, is 1-6 with a 6.76 ERA with the Lynx this season. Ten of his 14 games with the Lynx have been starts. Brito split last season between Scranton and Philadelphia. He finished 7th in the IL with a 3.17 ERA, he was tied for 2nd in complete games (2) and shutouts (2). He was Scranton's Pitcher of the Year in 2005.
